The Importance of Planning and Storyboards

Planning is important because without at least a rough plan, when you go to film you'll be improvising completely and that often means that your film or what ever it is you're doing, will not make as much sense or be as good as you want it to be. Planning is also important because it gives your actors or other people involved in your production something to work from as they can't read your mind.

Storyboards are also important because they give you a detailed description of what's going to happen in each scene. This also makes filming easier because you know what order to do things in and which order things will appear on your camera ready for editing. Storyboards can also be used for editing because you can follow them easily to remind yourself of what's going to happen next, without having to try and remember the whole thing.

In conclusion both planning and storyboards are important because it helps with the over all organisation of your production. Planning and storyboards allow you to make sure that you have thought of every single detail and that your production turns out exactly how you pictured it.
